Test to see how long you have left on this blue marble.

Looks like I have and expiration date of 2059. 85-42=43 years left. Seems about right been having lots mid life crisis`s. Toy cars, second garage for said toy car and boat, I am going to milk this mid life crisis thing for all its worth.

Also I checked my wife she is good till 2075. 101-42=59 years left. Man is this a relief, I want her good and health to take care my sorry butt while I am dying. I know no one else will since I have no children or friends. She`s friendly and has family she will be fine after I kick the bucket.

That was a fun test but I think it was a bit flawed.

It said my time was up last Tuesday but I`m still feeling frisky. Gotta go and organize my glazes, sealants, and waxes, in that order.

Even if it was accurate, I wouldn`t want to know. I want it to be a total surprise when it happens -- I want my last thought to be "Oh ship!" and then a fade to black...

91 years is not what I expected but if my brain is still sharp I will take it. Better warn my family that they may have to deal with me for a longer time than I thought.

While we can all laugh at this and maybe take the results with a grain of salt, I do think that the Millennials will have to consider the fact that, barring some holocaust or government decree to let "older" people die off, they WILL live longer. Medical science and heath-care in general seems to "prolong" life for all generations and this will raise some serious financial issues in the not too distant future. I am not a financial forecaster or economist, but I don`t think you need to be one to understand that most of you will probably outlive your retirement savings and social security benefits (or more correctly, their soon-to-be benefit depletion because of government- mandated programs) given the current trend in rising heath-care cost should you live to the predicted ages within that link.

Some will say that I am an alarmist and it`s just plain bunk, to put it mildly. That said, some of you will remember reading this response in your future and wonder why something couldn`t have been done today to avoid this economic financial tsunami. You can, but the economic and moral issues do not "fit" our socially-acceptable "norms". Let`s just say the ideas HAVE been put forth, but no one will listen or plan accordingly. If no one will listen to past Federal Reserve Chairman Allen Greenspan and his ideas and insight from many years as a learned economics, certainly no one will listen to me. It`s food for thought.....
