Tesla Model S Opti-Coated, plus an Escalade and lifted Dodge Ram

2010 Cadillac Escalade and 2011 lifted Dodge Ram truck. Owner was referred to me by another customer. He had recently returned from a hunting trip, so the truck was pretty dirty. Plus a valet smacked a concrete wall with it a while back, to make a long and beautiful story short and ugly, the first body shop messed it up pretty bad, second shop did what they could without stripping and repainting the entire truck. It has some issues that would be very time consuming (and expensive for the owner) that probably aren't worth worrying too much about since it will end up at the deer lease again anyway. Honestly, for 1 step (aside from some spot compounding) I was surprised how much improvement we made.



The Escalade was in pretty good shape outside, interior wasn't too bad considering the owner has a kid. He wanted a good basic detail done to each.

2013 Tesla Model S. We put Opti-Coat on his Toyota Prius several weeks ago, he's really happy how it looks and how when it rains it pretty much washes it. He just got his Tesla in, wanted us to do the same to it. Cloudy day (but nearly 80!) so I brought my halogen lights, went over the whole car, other than some random areas of adhesive from the shipping plastic and specks of tar on the passenger side, the paint was excellent. Minimal orange peel and swirl free. Only real contamination on the paint was the back of the trunk lid and even that was minor.



The owner was blown away by the improvement we got from polishing and the Opti-Coat. Said he didn't expect it to be so dramatic on a brand new car.

The sun sort of popped out a couple times, got a couple quick sun shots, then it disappeared again. But it was almost 80, did I mention that already?

Look great Scott! The Dodge is a sky scraper! Stand right up in those wheel wells! Looks wet! I have a Tesla coming in the future in blue hopefully in just as good a shape as yours was. I believe blue though.

Haven't seen a blue one yet. That metallic red seems to be the default color for them. Really cool cars!

Scott, the way I understand it, there are only 2 standard colors Black and Silver. If you pay for the Executive plan (50K) you get moved up the list and you can order from multiple colors. My customer ordered his in July of '09 and is just now getting ready to take delivery. They had to fill all the Exc. orders first. He was in the top 10 of the non-executive orders.

Same here, hate telling people with brand new cars they are going to have to pay $XXX more due to poor dealer prep.

Interesting. Can't imagine having to wait that long to get a car, but after taking care of a couple of them, I can see why they are going to be in high demand. Still not a road trip car, but a 265 mile range (with the 85 KW/h batter pack), it can get you to work and back for most people a full week between charges. Plus it has some serious balls, torque hits instantly, no waiting for air to get sucked into the engine, revs to build, etc. Way less maintenance too. No more oil changes, tune-ups, timing belts, valve adjustments. Basically tires, suspension and brakes.
