Terry towels -

Good or bad?

I sometimes use them for quick detailing, and usually use them after I wash a car down.

I've heard mixed things from people but I want the rundown.

Are they good or bad? Yes, no, and why. For what it's worth , (probably gonna get an earful on this) I worked at a turtle wax car wash for a week and a half.. they used lightly damp terry towels to dry cars down.

Cliffs: Are terry towels safe to use on paint?

Shed some light on this for me! :thx

it depends on the terry towel. the old discontinued megs terry towels with the satin binding were nice towels and i would use those on the paint. nowadays, most terry towels are too course for my liking...

i use towels that i borrowed from a hotel in vegas a few years back. They're pretty thick pile terry bath towels. THICK ones.

where can I find a proper terry to use? I like how they pull the water off the paint. I've used a waffle weave MF as well but I didn't really like how it dried off the paint.

if you go to your local walmart they have a 10pc Viking microfiber kit and it includes the gold x-large microfiber drying towel. you get alot of stuff inside the box and it was only $10...

do you have a picture of what i'd be looking for ?

i think this kit is seasonal for the holidays, and just the x-large microfiber drying towel alone is $8.99 at k-mart / $10.99 at kragen. you'll see the box (it's says microfiber kit pretty big on the box, so you should easily be able to locate it and IIRC the box was green or blue) on an endcap next to where the megs holiday kits are. below is the towel included with a bunch of other stuff...
