Teaser: Vicem Yachts V54 Classic

****EDIT****- Its Vicem not Vichem, although it is pronuunced Vichem.

Though you guys migh appreicate this. Just a wash and spray wax on it for now, but WOW, what a piece of art this yacht is. The craftmanship is truly impeccable, all the little details really make it quite amazing.

Just some quick info:

The boat is a 2005, built in Turkey and is one of the only yachts manufactured out of wood today. It takes around a year and a half to build one, with the sticker usually around 1 million plus. The decks are all teak, with mahogany accents all over the boat. It truly is unreal.

Process:

-Wash with DG CWC via foam gun and scrubed with a megs wide angle body brush.

-Dry with MANY waffle weaves.

-Spray wax with what other than Aquawax.

-Windows sealed with OptiSeal.

-Teak wash with AmazingRollOff diluted 3:1

I think it came out pretty good.

Time Spent: 3 Hours

Pay:$200

Pretty cool boat. I wouldn't mind living on that thing :)

I've always been curious, how exactly do you detail a boat that's on the water? Are there no regulations as far as runoffs from products going into the marina/sea?

I use my inflatable usually to go around the side facing the water. Its a PITA, but it gets it done. I read the labels on the products I use before I use them, and as long as the product is certified biodegradable, I wont use it. There are MAJOR penalties for that.

There are a couple of boats similar to that in our marina. Whats it powered by? Volvo-Penta.

Ha, I have seen detailers around here washing/waxing the hulls of boats in their rib-inflatables, that has got to be a pain in the arse. You should be marketing towards dry-stack boats, they are out of the water almost all the time and makes detailing the hull much easier. When I detail boats, that is all I will take is boats out of the water.
