I have a small chip off the paint(thru the primer), about 2millimeters at its biggest. How should I cover it until I touch it up?? right now I have un-buffed wax on it...

TIA

JTS

I use a dab (with the end of a toothpick - just as you would with touchup paint) of clear nail polish. Works well.

You should use something that will easily wash out completely when you are ready to paint. Quick detailer or even carnuba wax will work fine.

Nail polish will certainly seal in the chip but is a little too permanent for me. I do use this on clearcoat chips on wheels, though.

Yeah, I don't know that I would use the polish are large areas. My car is over a month old, but for the few small, inconspicuous (sp) knicks I've gotten on the lower bumper from stones, I used it.

Now, if I could just get off my lazy butt and go get my touch up paint!

:o

This is my project for tomorrow....

Make sure to post the after pics.

Good Times!!!!! I especially like the broken rim bead!! You would expect nothing less from the interior, if your driving around on that!!

She was super stoked. She jumped up and down when she saw it and gave me a big huge hug. It was funny. :)
