Brasso is a pretty good product I use to use it on copy machines when i repaired them for cleaning the drums. Probably work well on polished wheels. Can't comment on the Tarnx

Tarn X has no business in my opinion. It is specifically made for Sterling Silver, Silver Plate, Platinum, Copper, Gold, Diamonds.

Brasso is made for brass although it is very mild since people use it to fix scratches on music CD's!

There are a whole host of proper metal polishes to use on various uncoated metals on vehicles such as Wenol, Eagle One, Mothers, Meguiars, and Flitz.
 
That's what I was thinking too. Those are some mighty strong chemicals. I have some laying around and thought I could put them to use ;)

I would actually suggest Adams Metal Polishes over those listed. I have tried all of those and in my opinion Adams 1 and 2 are far superior and way easier to use. I also agree the Brasso is a very mild cleaner especially consdiering we used it on Photo Drums in the copy machines.

Agreed... but personally I have grown to love simichrome for truly delicate metal polishing :D

Never heard of it. Got a link? I have also heard very good stuff about Heavy Metal I think it's called.

The simichrome comes from the local Harley shop (right next to the S100!) it's not cheap stuff, but it's what folks who prep cars for concours generally use from what I've heard. Google for more links than this, but here's one as an example:

Never used Adams 1 & 2, but the Wenol cream twins (Red & Blue) in my opinion are incredible. I know they're heavily used by the US AirForce. I've done some serious restoration with the red tube and the blue is very mild and polishes out to an incredible luster. Plus a little goes a long way and it would take you literally years to go through the tubes.

Whatever you choose, there are plenty of car specific ones to choose from over Tarn-X and Brasso.
