Tape Question

What kind of tape do you guys use to tape off trim, etc. when polishing?

I believe it's 3M painters tape (the green ones). I'm not sure.

Painter's tape it is, although the kind I get is blue.

I use the 3M blue. There's slightly different levels of blue, it's marked on the roll. I forget exaclty what it was for, but I think it was in reference to the adhesive .....no ?

My roll has #2090 written on it if that helps :nixweiss

Yes, blue painter's tape is the way to go to protect your trim.

You can leave it on for a couple days too. I did my Spring detail on my exterior which I broke up over a couple days (6 step process - IP, #80 Speed Glaze, Hand Polish, #16, Souveran Paste x2). It removed from the ruber and vinyl trim without issue.

Yeah, I started using the 3M blue painters tape when I saw MBZ300E's post where he actually taped off all the vulnerable areas for a long drive to a car show. I was astonished. Especially that it was so easily removable after sun and heat.
