Need to take my tint off, so whats the easiest way to do this? Its been on for about 4-5 years, do I just start peeling it off or scraping it off. Os there some tricks to do it. Thanks
There is some vinegar solution that some ppl think is the greatest, but I think it just makes a big mess. Simply peel the film off, protect the door panel(s), use quik-solv or similar solvent based cleaner to remove the glue residue, then use some 0000 steel wool and some window cleaner. That should but them back to stock without damaging the windows.
you can also spray simple green, amonia, or some other cleaner on the tint and then place a black garbage bag on the glass. Leave it in the sun to bake for a while and the tint should peel off a bit easier
you can also use a platic razor to get some of the film off
Easiest I found was to peel off the tint then use Simple Green to remove the glue... a razor blade helped and then I clayed the glass to get all the little bits of glue that were left - the clay took any residue right off and left the glass very clean.
