2. Start a detail business: no school or work experience necessary.
By the way, self-taught does not necessarily mean no previous work experience when it comes to becoming a professional detailer. I am sure(stepping out on a limb a bit here but feel confidant) a very large portion of the other professionals on this site were enthusiasts that understood a lot of detailing before making money from it.
