Swissvax Concorso: S2000 Black

So, I decided to try out Swissvax Concorso from reading on here, MikeyC's pist and S2ki. I did some paint correction about a month ago, so I didnt use the UDM.

The cleaner fluid, IMO is kind of a pain to use. Its kind of hard to apply, I guess sticky is the word to use here. However, the bottle says apply till sticky. I just thought it was odd. But, after buffing it off it left the paint looking real good.

The wax. I applied the wax by hand. I followed the direction by applying the wax on the paint by fingertips. I tried a applicator pad, but it didnt really work. The wax really needs to warm to be able to be applied.

I believe this wax really is great. The shine is ridiculous. Probably the most reflective I've seen. I really wish I would have used this when I did my full detail, because it is VERY reflective and shiny. Due to its intense shine, you can see some of the scratches, contaminants on the paint. I really should've clay bar'd. I really dont think it gets any better than this. Unless, I try some Mystery, Divine or Vintage.

The pics dont do the wax any justice. Looks much better in person.

I cant wait to see how it looks after a few more hours. Supposedly, the wax becomes deeper from curing in the sun.

lol i never waxed my wheels before and I have a car meet tomorrow. So, I just grabbed the souveran for ***** and giggles. I'm deciding on what sealant/wax I want to use on them in the future.

Use some tire foam in the wheel wells, works great and you don't need to reach in there.

The paint looks awesome, I am a huge fan of Concorso. With cleaner fluid, I actually just apply with a foam towel then remove right away; I find it much easier than HD cleanse. A nice sub for both is Pinnacle Paintwork Cleanser.

Wow $80 wax on wheels.

you stole my thunder, i was going to say the same thing!! :wow:

does concorso sheet water like crazy. i've seen some videos on youtube showing the sheeting action of some zymols. i think that's cool as hell, would assume it would aid in keeping the car cleaner during normal driving. atleast that my be my justification to spending the $$ to get those products.:LOLOL

Yes, Concourso sheets water similarly to Zymol.

Me and a few of my pals tested some waxes, on a freshly buffed black front bonnet ( scrap bonnet ). The ones I remember : Swissvax Onyx, Collinite 476S, MG M16, MG UQD, MG Cleaner Wax, Jeffs Werkstatt, and one or two more that I forgot.

Immediately when applying the waxes ( all following instructions ), Swissvax Onyx immediately shows the wetness and shine ( although we were applying all these waxes under a shade large enough for 2 S Class! )!

Buffing off, all buffed off easy.

Water beading test : The fastest to bead was MG UQD, followed by Onyx, then 476S, M16, Cleaner Wax and finally Jeffs Werkstat. But the smallest and tightest bead was the Onyx, followed by UQD, 476S and M16.

Water rinse test : As above, but the real surprise here as Werkstat, as it rinses to almost dry! Although it was the slowest to dry lah.

Then we tested with a few IPA wipedowns. Sadly, some of these boutique waxes failed, only M16 and 476S still holding up a bit. Then we followed with a few rinse test. Only M16 and 476S is holding up, barely.

Well, from our test, it seems that for our country, boutique waxes cannot last. We have extremely hot morning and afternoon ( sometimes up to 38 degrees Celcius ), slightly breezy evenings with maybe, maybe temp going down to 37 - 36 degrees Celcius ) and then heavy rainstorms at night. Sometimes, it'll rain cats and dogs in the evening!
