Swirls won't come out!

I finally got the Porter Cable down on my paint. I have a TON of swirls, so I started with the most abrasive stuff I had. A yellow cutting pad, and Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover. It still left some swirls and scratches! I pushed pretty hard on it, and let it really work in. At the rate I was going, it was looking like an all day job for just one half of the car. Is there something I am overlooking? Here's the gear I have, so if anyone has a combination they think I should use with what I have, please let me know! Thanks!

The Pinnacle Kit

I can't find the pad kit I bought anymore, but they are 6" wolfgang pads, and I have all of the colors.

1 bottle of Menzerna polish

1 can of Natty's Blue paste carnauba wax

And of course, the 7424.

I am not sure how aggressive is the Menzerna polish you have. You may want to find a more aggressive pad and polish combination. It takes longer for a PC to cut heavy swirling from paint.

If you are still having issues with removing swirls, you may want to try using a rotary on your next attempt.

First off what car is it? Different cars have different hardness of clear coats. Then what Menzerna do you have?

Shiroelex- Doing correction via PC with 6" pads really *can* take hours on end. Even with 4" cutting pads and H-T EC it can take a long, long time depending on how bad the marring is and how hard the paint is. Just the nature of the thing, unfortunately.

My car is a 2001 Mustang GT. It's True Blue Metallic, code L7, if that matters. The Menzerna is called Menzerna Power Gloss. It's a 32 oz. bottle.

Correction via PC is always gonna be a PITA, IMO. The only product that I have used that will truely remove 95-100% of marring is OHC on a cutting pad. Follow with something like FPII, and you will have a beautiful, marr-free finish in just 2 steps.

use the PG on the cutting pad over the entire car, then step down to a lighter cutting pad and a lighter compound, the a polishing pad and a light polish, then wax

power gloss and a cutting pad

intensive polish and a light cut pad

FPII and a polishing pad

wax by hand with natty's

if you want to try out some optimum polishes, I have the OHC, OC, and OP I want to get rid of...all new formulas, and all full unused bottles...PM me
