I own an Acura EL which has a metallic trim piece near the grill. It's got a few stone chips which are black so I know it's somehow painted. The scratches are visible up close but not too bad from a far. I'm not too concerned, but I wouldn't mind trying to correct them a bit. Very much RIDs if I say so myself. Can anyone suggest an OTC product I might try? I've got scratch doctor which did a half decent job on my headlights and some fine scratches with ample elbow grease.
I have *zero* idea what your trim has on it, but the black metal trim on my MPV is painted with single stage black paint, and it's *very* thin (gee, guess how I know ). So I'd be a little careful when you try polishing it just in case yours stuff is as fragile as mine is.
