Swirl remover or polish, which goes first

If using AIO and Meguires #9, Which order should be used? My idea is to go with the #9 than follow with AIO, topped with Klasse SG. Is this the correct order for these products?

Yes, that is the correct order. You always want to use AIO as the last step before SG regardless of what products you are using. AIO will clean the paint and remove any oil and fillers left by previous products (in this case #9) and properly prep the surface to accept the SG.

I was reading a thread that someone wrote on another site which had some people agreeing that said that using AIO before #9 was better. The explanation was that #9 cleaned paint surface better than AIO. This turned everything around as far as what i understood the products to do. I guess you cannot believe everything you read!!

#9 is Meguiars SMR. It has oils and fillers in it which will prohibit the SG from bonding. From all that I have read and tried myself it seems that AIO and P21s/S100 SEC are the two best pre-wax/sealant cleaners on the market. #9's primary functuion is not cleaning. #9 is a mild SMR. Not sure what those ppl on the other board are talking about, but I'll have to respectufully disagree with them.

I might add that Meguiars Medallian paint cleaner is more aggressive than p21s or 4 star. Most times you don't want something too aggessive anyway. But if you do, I';d try the Meg, before going to something too strong.

I agree too,

Do AIO last as it also has cleaners in it to help clean the paint and provide a surface base for SG to go on. I've never used SG before but this is what I learned. I have used both #9 and AIO, both are great products. I use #9 in my reguarly maintain schedule #9, #7 and MPPP or #26 ,,,,,,,91

Yeah, use the #9 BEFORE the AIO. #9 is an abrasive (albeit a rather mild one) and you want to do all the abrading BEFORE you use something basically NONabrasive like AIO. Plus, as BillNorth said, the SG should be preceded by AIO, it won't adhere as well to the #9's oils and fillers.

#9 can be used as the final polish before a carnauba wax, but not before Klasse SG (according to the standard belief that SG will not adhere to an oiled surface). In this case, it would be pointless to use AIO since #9 would remove it.
