Surprise find at local autoparts store

I went to small local parts store for some oil filters but I was stopped dead in my tracks by Megs #16 on the shelf. I bought 4 cans at $11.96 a can. I talked to the owner who had no idea that it was not being sold anymore. I did leave one can on the shelf, you never know it just might make someone elses day.

I figure I'm good for at least 15 years with these and my previous stock.

Nice find! #16 usually isn't sold at the retail level because people do not read directions and would be calling Meguiars and complaining how they applied a whole can of #16 to their car, let it sit for two hours then needed an air chisle to get it off.

wow... a store still had stock left? #16 is hardly seen nowadays, it's realyl cool you found some. Great find!

I'm good with my 1 tin. I only use it on 1 car, and that car only needs waxing every 3 months so.... I'm good for a while :D

The way you guys are talking about stockpiling #16, reminds me of the "sponge" episode on Seinfeld. Elaine finds out the "sponge" (her preferred contraceptive method) is being discontinued. So she buys all the "sponges" they have at the store, then decides on a case-by-case basis whether her dates are "sponge worthy", since her supply of sponges have to last her the rest of her life. :lol

Is your vehicle "#16 worthy"??? Is your gf's car??? Is your customer's (if you are a detailer by trade)??? :nixweiss

Peace.

That great!! I never would have though to compare waxing to a episode of Seinfeld.

But in my case I think I have enough for the rest of my detailing life.

It is neat to find a "treasure" every so often, but then I think... how old is the rest of this guy's stock?

One place here (NAPA) has 3 different styled bottles of Meg's #5 on the shelf. That means the oldest style is REALLY old!
