Just wondering if any of you have tried any of these products, specifically, the beyond clay? If so, what do you think of them? Does the beyond clay work well?

Hey Nick,

I haven't had the chance to try the beyond clay but I have read in other forums that it is OK. I have learned you have to try products for yourself. I know its great when people confirm that this is a great product, but until you use it for yourself you wont know. As a matter of fact just last night I picked up some Killer Chrome Perfect Polish, Hot Rod Protective Detailer and Clearly Better Glass Cleaner (All Surf City Products) from the local auto parts store. I saw the display and just had to try out some of thier products.

Nick,
I have used Beyond Clay by Surf City. IMO it is designed for machine use and is a decent polish with a high concentration of soft abrasives. I personally would not replace my clays for this product as I prefer to remove any deep contaminents before my buffers hit the surface. As with alot of other polishes, pressure is the key to make this product preform. I would stay around 1000 rpm, start with firm pressure and lighten up your pressure as the product starts to dry.

Big Mike, you are right about trying them out. I usually do that, but this items are pretty pricey.

Matt...thanks for the feedback on the BC product. I'm going to purchase some tonight and try it over the weekend. Any particular pad you recommend?

Thnaks guys!

I would use it more as a finishing product before sealing/waxing. I tried it with my buffer, a wool cut pad from Auto Magic and did not get the results I was looking for. I slapped on some New Car Glaze with the wool pad and then went back to the Beyond Clayafter hitting the needed areas, swiched to a LC white foam finishing it off with a LC red foam. I applied our Glacier Polish with my PC 7424 after it (as usual) and that was about 6 mths ago. Still as slick as the day I did it and beading like a champ!!! By the way...make sure you get the Beyond Clay off of the trim ASAP. I also tried the Beyond Clay on my neighbors unwashed trunk by hand (he is not a car guy so there was no drama) to see how it would act and it worked out pretty well.

The car soap, grime remover (forget the actual name), hot rod detailer, and glass cleaner are all excellent.

I didn't care for the metal polish.

Have not tried the clay.

I like their Hot Rod detailer for a final wipe down after LSP on dark colors and as a QD after washing. No streaking and adds a deep look that compliments whatever LSP is on the paint. For the same purpose on lighter colors I prefer OID for it's brighter gloss.

I've tried Nano Seal and Barrier Reef and did not like either. I wrote about them when I did a wax test on MOL and the both had a reaction to my paint.

Not particularly easy on or off, nothing special about the look or feel. Just ho-hum products IMO.
