Supercharged and NOS'd 05 Z51 Corvette detail

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey all.

The guys at RP Motorsport (www.rpmotorsport.com) have been at their devilish games once again!! This brand spanking new C6 Corvette will be on display at the SEMA show on November 2 in the HRE wheel booth. It is getting loaded on an enclosed transport early tomorrow morning for the long drive to Las Vegas from Marietta. HRE provided those gorgeous 19" rims for the car (19x9 in the front and 19x11 in the rear). Not wanting just and ordinary car at SEMA, RP put a custom blower kit and NOS system on this car. As far as I know this is the very first supercharged C6 in the country. They do not have any dyno numbers yet as they just finished buttoning up the car as I arrived this evening. When it returns from the show it will get a proper tune and final adjustments. Sorry for the poor quality of some of the photo's...my digital has a hard time under fluorescent lighting for some reason. The detail was as follows:

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Clay with Pinnacle's Poly Clay bar with Meg's #34 as a lube.

Polish/Glaze with Pinnacle's Paintwork Cleansing Lotion by hand with a foam applicator

Seal with Pinnacle's Souveran by hand with a foam applicator

Enjoy,

Mike

Man what a cool ride. Mike I dont know why my pics.wont load Im doing it like we did earlyer today just wont happen.

Car looks good but I see what you mean about the camera. Try adjusting your white balance. Should be a setting for flourescent or incandescent lighting.

NNNAAAAAAWWWWWSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry i couldn't resist. :D

very beautiful. how was the paint? nice and free from orange peel and swirls?

mike you are so lucky to be able work on such beautiful and awesome machines. man, if i were in your shoes, i would tell them they can pay me for the detail by giving me a ride in that beast, after they tune it of course. :)

I have a friend who has a car that will be in that very same booth.

Silver C6 w/ HREs

Great job on the detail!

nice detail on the sick vette.. cant wait to work on one... seems like you're doin a lot of high power vettes recently...

Wow, nice Vette. I hadn't seen the interior yet and I really love that glimpse of the dash.

Can the LS2 handle boost from the ProCharger + N2O?

THANKS all for the kind words! :D

tdekany it was a paying job. In fact...they actually felt bad about me coming out to detail the Vette last minute on a Saturday night!! I looked at them as if they were crazy.

badblack99 thanks for the tip...I will check my manual. I've had this little Cannon camera for over two years now and I am still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles.

Zane...small world indeed!!! Tell your buddy to see if he can get a few shots of the two cars together.

Reid :LOLOL NAWS!!!! The paint was good as the car only had 290 miles on it. No swirls with typical GM orange peel. They always offer to take me for a spin in their creations when they are done...I usually refuse since that is their ploy to get me to give them my WS6 for a RP "makeover"!!!

NavindraLR...it was a good week. :)

Sean I detail normal cars everyday all day, I just don't post pics of them (though I do wish my work could be limited to just the speed freaks...maybe I can fill that detailing niche one day). I like to save my photo's for the sweet ones. I get more enjoyment posting about them.

T. Perinne I asked the guys at RP that same question. Their exact words to me were "We're gonna find out". It is not a clients car but is an in-house R&D test mule....chances are that it will grenade after a few 1320 blasts on the squeeze. At that point they'll take it apart and build something even more sick.

Pat...those rims....mmmmmm!! :up

Well let us know, I'd love to hear how it does. Sounds like they definitely got a budget to try some aggresive combos! I know I had to have at least a forged if not billet rotating assemble for my ProCharger's boost levels, I can't imagine a N20 setup on top of that - maybe a 50 shot but not what it looks like the Vette has. Certainly will be a wicked ride :)
