Supercharged '04 Commemorative Edition Z06 Corvette detail

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hello all!!

My good clients at RP Motorsport (www.rpmotorsport.com) gave me a call to come detail one of their latest beasts....I do so love when the call me. :D They are a local tuner shop here in Marietta and have quite a knack for providing late model GM vehicles with ungodly amounts of horsepower. :bow

This beast is a Commemorative Edition (RPO code Z16) Z06 Vette. These Vette's were built to commemorate the winning of team Corvette at the 24hrs. of LeMan's race. They were only available in LeMan's Blue and the Z06 versions of the package came with a real carbon fiber hood, polished aluminum wheels and a graphics package. The guys at RP got their hands on this 10K mile Vette and added their magic. It is a stock displacement 346c.i. LS6 motor with forged internals, full exhaust and a big ole ATI blower!! On 93 octane street gas it will lay down 600 hp and 560 lbs. of torque....at the wheels. :bow

The Vette was in great shape, very little swirling, but did need to be clayed. Below is the description of the detail.

Enjoy,

Mike

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Clay with Mother's clay bar using Meg's #34 as a lube.

Polish/Glaze with ClearKote's Vanilla Moose with a Meg's 8006 pad and my PC set at 6.

Seal with ClearKote's Carnauba Moose by hand with a foam applicator.

Rims have Meg's #20, tires have Meg's Hot Shine and the exterior glass has ClearKote's VM.

Very nice. Beautiful color and gloss. Can't wait to see pics of the new Vettes after a detailing.

1 Clean, we got get together the local Atlanta Autopians at some point and trade stories over drinks or try some product swapping. I think mtodde and Bretfraz would be up for it...

Beautiful. I can't even begin to imagine that much power in one of these cars. Very nice reflections and clarity/depth.

I really love that paint scheme. Very reminiscent of the 1996 Grand Sport, and of course of the awesome paint scheme of the 2004 LeMans entries. I was sorry they didn't keep that paint scheme for the rest of the ALMS season.

I figured the S/C would be a Lingenfelter roots kind, not a centrifugal. Some nice power it's making! :)

THANK YOU all for the very kind words!! :xyxthumbs

Aurora40 I wish I could say that was a "paint scheme" but in typical GM fashion it's a graphics package. :(

Lee I'm all for that!!! Especially the "drinks" part!! :D

that is just beautiful work. :)

did you do the engine too? and did you use anything on the graphics or leave them along?

Thanks again all!! :xyxthumbs

hirosh the graphics got VM'd and CMW'd right on top of them as if they were part of the paint.

94NDTA from what the guys at RP told me they like keeping big boost supercharged motors at the stock displacement since there is no need for additional bottom end torque...the blower does that job. On their turbo cars they DO stroke them (usually to 382c.i.) to have the bottom end torque to cancel out the turbo lag.
