Super Glue Removal

I first clayed my Silver Honda CR-V, then applied the AIO with a damp foam applicator, and next put on the 1st coat of SG with a dry foam applicator and waited 20 minutes before buffing it off by hand with a MF towel. All I can say is wow!!!. The surface of the paint is so smooth and no industrial fallout on the paint. Thanks for all your help. I am waiting on my other shipment of the Pinnacle Paste Glaz to add as a topper for that extra depth in the paint. Don't get me wrong but the Klasse AIO and SG already puts on a nice shine and protection but I want it to last so forth the topper. So before I apply the PPG, I will add two more coats of Klasse SG. I love this product. For about two years, I had been using a industrial brand called Pro. I definitely can tell what a difference Klasse makes. I will never go back to the Pro brand. Thank you all again for all your input and hopefully I will be able to put up a couple of pics after I put on the two coats of SG and the PPG as the topper to seal in that shine.

Aloha,

RP:bow

p.s. I also have the P21S Carnuba Conquors Wax, 303 Aerospace Protectant, Eimann Fabrik Clear Pearl Instant Detailer, two Ultimate MF towels, and 3 Viper MF towels coming with the shipment of Pinnacle Paste Glaz. I am hooked on Autopia!!!

I want to thank Tim at www.tacscar.com and Bill at www.klassedirect.com for their great customer service. Products were promptly shipped. And my emails were quickly responded to. I look forward to doing business with these two great establishments in the future.

cool beans man,

I think you'll be happy with Klasse. Great product. Especially, if you us ppg you'll notice a pretty good difference.

Right on McGarret! :) Pure horse bookem Dano! Ok now that I've got THAT out of my system... whew.

Nothing is more awesome then working hard at something and being excited about the results. Good job! I too am a fairly recent convert to :bow Klasse. I've Klassed four vehicles so far and the results are dazzling. Furthermore the protection is holding up very well. So far the only vehicle that I have given a wax topper to the Klasse is my white pickup. It's probably just the color but the wax was a waste of time and effort. Rather than doing that now I'll just lay down another coat of SG instead.

It took 2 or 3 coats of PPG before I got hooked on it. My car is white and i think it just took the right light before I realized what it was doing. The Klasse makes my car bright as hell but the PPG gives it this really cool glow around the edges of it. In the shade my car looks almost fluid. I really love that stuff. I'm excited to get a couple coats of BF on it and then lay on some PPG. :)

Always glad to have another Klasse Convert. :) Welcome to the club brother.

I just used Klasse last week and i cannot wait to put a second coat of high gloss sealant glaze

I love the results of Klasse AIO - SG (4 coats) - Pinnacle Souveran. I go back every 4 - 6 weeks and redo the Souveran but the Klasse it's good for 6 months+. Good Stuff !

Wouldn't the Klasse be good indefinitely if you're redoing Souveran every 4-6 weeks?

The Klasse will eventually break down no matter what you put on top of it. I don't think we can really even guess how long 4 coats of SG will last. Probably more than a year. Anyone that cares for their car enough to use SG in the first place wouldn't ever let it break down anyway. :) I've got over a dozen. I doubt that it would ever wear off but I'm not going wait long enough to find out. It's all being taken off in a month or two to get the blackfire treatment. :)

I used klasse for the first time on a friends car (gotta test first on anothers car) and was very surprised that the watery liquid from that bottle could shine so much. I applied three layers then couldnt find a pure caranuba wax to top it so I picked up what I could find at the closest hardware store which was Meguiars Deep Crystal system # 3 caranuba with some other additives. Now, I believed it wasnt a cleaner since it did not mention it. BUT, it had petroleum distillates in it and i have worries that this topper I frantically chose may have removed some if not all the Klasse layers. Will the product I mention do this??? At which local store can I buy a caranuba that is made to perfectly top the klasse? What is the product name? I am not willing to order in the mail. Id rather pick up the product from the store.

THanks alot

Ryan

Ryan,

I would avoid Cleaner-waxes as they likely will remove some or all of the SG. Look for a pure wax, no cleaners, I know Mothers makes one and I see it in stores. Blitz and Pinnacle make the pure waxes I am familiar with.

Ryan, I would really encourage you to consider giving Blitz a try. It is an excellent wax and most if not everyone here is a HUGE fan of this wax. It is without a doubt, in my opinion of course, the best value for a carnauba wax out there. It is also much better than any carnauba wax you can buy at a auto parts store. Those products are not really geared to enthusiasts such as Autopians.

Give Blitz a search and you will see that Blitz is very highly regarded. You will love it. Trust me!

Ryan, you can't go wrong with the carnauba toppers mentioned above. They are among the best anyone can get. However, if you have your heart set on getting only from a retail stores, try finding a Pep Boys in your area and picking up a bottle of one of the following:

Meguiar's #26 High-Tech Yellow Wax

3M Perfect-It Show Car Paste Wax

Mother's Showtime Carnauba

If you don't mind me asking, is there any reason in particular why you don't want to order anything over the internet?

I have a customer dropping of his car to me next Saturday for a spot repair on his rear quarter panel. He also said that he got super glue on his leather arm rest.

Do any of you have any good suggestions on how to remove it?

Put a heat gun to it, then you should be able to wipe clean :-B

Might also try adhesive remover. Probally be nice to have some "plastic" razor blades or "plastic" putty knife to pop it loose :soldier:

EDIT I am retarded. I just saw that this was on the leather  I thought we were talking rear quarters :out:

Barry, this is going to be a problem I'm afraid. No matter which approach you go with there is a significent chance to damage/remove the dye. You should make your customer aware of this on the front end for sure Da Rules!

From the horse's mouth:

Since acetone may discolor or mar leather you may want to try a dedictated Super Glue Remover. This article suggests it may be safer on many materials:
