Super Chamois

I posted this in the WM waffle weave MF thread, but felt it deserved it's own billing.

I first bought the super chamois years ago at the NYS Fair. This is a synthetic chamois that when washed is as soft as felt. I believe this is very paint safe.

It holds water (many times it's weight) like you wouldn't believe and is tops for drying a vehicle. I [also] cut one up to dedicate for the door jams, trunk, hood wipe down that almost always dirty up a drying towel. Cut down, they would also make a good applicator for leather/vinyl, sealant and/or other stuff. These chamois are machine washable, last a good long time and look closely at what you get (double) for the price, it's a GREAT VALUE.

Also, in the "yea, but who really cares" department, these make great, super absorbant towels for under the sink when the dog dumps his water bowl or Junior spills the glass of milk all across the dining room table or on the LR carpet.

Super Chamois

I bought some of these at a car show and THEY SUCK! I make sure to tell that to the crazy guy with the headset on doing the live infomercial every time I see him...man does that piss them off. :hide: SPAM ABOVE????:think2

the only reason they work is when the guy is the demonstrating do you notice how used the chamoisis is thats why is so call says it works he must have used that chamosis 100 times or more

I bought those at a car show once, but wasn't too impressed with them. Even after I washed them *I* didn't find it very useful, especially for drying a car with. If I didn't have a MFWW (or even a plain MF) around and was forced to dry with something else I'd reach for an Absorber before I'd use a Super Chamois. I do carry one in the back of the street rod to blot up an occasional leak if I get caught in a bad rain...... but that is also something I could probably do better with a cheap MF.

I may take your advice and cut the other one I have up and try it out on wheels and jambs.

Works great for me - wonder what you were doing wrong? Maybe if you didn't wash it first or maybe if it was bone dry?

btw, I realize your new, but having a different opinion of a product doesn't give you license to call my post SPAM - that's just bad form.

So the more you use it the better it gets - sounds like an endorsement to me.

I do agree that they are softer/better after they're washed. Some of mine are pretty used, but they're holding up well even after all the washings (washed/dried after every use along with the MF towels).

I remember them from about 5-6 years ago. They seemed fine and all that. Right now i believe from recollection theat my wwMF are superior to it.

I am "new" that I dont post a lot. I have been around for a while absorbing the info provide by some amazingly talented guys (and girls). I had no intention of insulting you and I appologize for the spam comment. I guess I jumped to conclusions. Again, sorry about that. I have no idea what I did wrong...I washed it, made sure it was damp before I used it but it just didnt seem to work well for me. :nixweiss

I got one. No idea from where, probably a boat show. I did not think they where as great as the person selling them claimed them to be. I just use it to wipe down the patio furniture.

the varoom chamois at target, are no good. they shred and shed when u are using them. seems to be to only product of theirs, that i have used, that i dont like. the absorber works quite well. in fact u can avoid the quick detailing step after some washes using the absorber.
