There is no cure!
Purchased a windshield sunshade today during my lunch hour. Fits awesome... Only disgression I have about it, is that it cost me 50 bucks at my stealership... It was 93 Degrees today, but felt like 105. I could not take it. Even with dark window tints with 99% UV protection, they are counterproductive as they don't allow heat out that comes in from the windshield...

I placed it today @ 1pm. I park on the roof (too avoid door dings, vandalism, ect), even though I have a reserved parking space in the garage... I'll let you fools know how it goes. Have a great evening guys.
 
What brand did you get? I love my sunshade. I've been using the Covercraft UVS100 Sunshade for years on my cars. I've had one in every one of my last 4 vehicles. The one I bought for my Integra over six years ago is still in use by a friend on his Integra. There is more reason than just blocking heat to have one. They block UV rays that will cause fading in your interior. They also block the majority of the heat that causes your seatbelts and gear shift knobs and steering wheel and anything else that sits in the sun from being too hot to touch. Your interior will be cooler with a quality sunshade in use than without one, that much is for sure. I either lift the sunroof a bit or crack the windows if I am concerned about it getting too hot inside, but I always put the shade up.

A good sunshade is especially helpful when parking in a covered parking garage. I put my UVS100 up and along with my tinted windows you can't see anything inside the car. That is great for when you are doing Christmas shopping and don't want people looking to see what you have in the back of your car already while you are in the mall. You gotta love the thing!

joyride: Do you have Huper Optik tint?


The G35 guys swear by it on the heat repellency. Many actually get their windshield tinted clear just to repel the heat 360* around.
 
I use Formula One Pinnacle. I don't have any before or after pics but their is a member on e90post.com (bmwexecutive) who put it on his e90, replacing his existing Huber Optic.

Unfortunately, I got screwed because the Installer did a bad job. Really hard to find good people. Its like finding a good detailer, so I just looked for the best I COULD find.

I have NO PRIOR experience with either other than the exhisting tint on my car. Does a real good job repelling heat, but also holds in heat as well. Hopefully this sunshade helps.

The sunshade is a BMW accessory so you can almost bet its worth like 30 bucks and upcharged 60%. It looks exactly the same as yourss, except it has "BMW" printed on the front. I would not be surprised if it is the exact same manufacturing company.
 
35% is pretty light. Trust me. 55% is like nothing, and you WILL regret paying a lot for it. I once evne used 50% tint on my MINI's windshield a while ago...

I have 20% all around (on top of my privavcy glass, making it a 5% darkness). My father has huper optik on his s55 AMG and it give a nice classy look.
 
Legal limit in Utah is like 45% up front and whatever you want in the back. Going darker than 20% causes some issues at night with visibility, but as long as you stay at 20% you don't have any problems. I put 20% in the back and whatever the darkest legal limit is up front on my cars. Utah has safety inspections every other year for new cars and every year for cars 5 years or older, so you can't really get away with going below the legal limit for too long. They'll fail you and you have to take it off in order to pass. :(
 
Fortunately I can keep my tints the way they are, seeing as FL does not require vehicle inspection..

Unfortunately, that also means many drivers can keep driving buckets waiting to fail...

Yep, I know.


I've been down the tint road many times. My other vehicles have ranged from 20 - 2% (double limo). I looked at 35% and I really want 50. I want it to be almost not noticeable. I am going for as stock looking as possible on this car...No more cop attraction!
