Summer Pics - My Camaro

For about the past 6 weeks, I've been playing with combinations on my Camaro (like every summer).

I started out with XMT Finishing Glaze topped with Souveran. After the next 2 washes, I added another coat of Souveran. After the most recent wash, I revisited RMG and added another coat of Souveran and Quikshine (on glass, too). The tires are wearing Zaino Z16.

Here are a few pics:

Oh man, all the houses are the same! Wicked nice car though. :)

Thanks, all! :)

tumbler - I was much more impressed with RMG than the last time I used it.

Steve - Yep, it's a street of duplexes...college life.

Sean - 13 years and 102k miles. Similar to you, it's definitely time for something new (hopefully Z71 truck), but I'll be keeping this car to "restore" at some point in the future.

Looking very suave. :2thumbs:

Out of curiosity and sorry for the thread hijack, but do you prefer XMT Carnauba Glaze or RMG? I have no experience with either but as an owner of a black car I am always on the lookout for quality products to fill minor marring. TIA.

I don't get any overly significant filling from either. I need to play with XMT some more, but I think RMG makes the paint slightly darker.

Your car looks better every time I see a pic. Nice to hear you'll be keeping it when something new comes along.

I have been using RMG for almost a year and XMT Carnauba Glaze for about a month. I agree with Zane that RMG seems to darken the paint more than XMT does and I also think that RMG adds a little more depth on black cars. To me XMT really looks good on medium and lighter colors and has more reflectivity then RMG or even PS. As far as filling I think they are very close to the same capabilities but if I was to rate one I would have to give RMG a very slight edge but that could be that XMT increased reflectivity makes defects more apparent. The XMT polishes I have used on three cars now and I’m really impressed – they are top line products in my book.
