suggestions please

Yesterday I used my PC for the first time. I started off with SSR2.5 and an orange pad, finished off with ssr1 and a white pad, and followed up with Klasse AIO on a white pad. Before I was able to apply the EX and natty's it started to rain (I had to do this out in the drive, thanks to shade provided by a tree across the yard.

My question is, can I just go ahead, rewash and apply the EX and natty's, or should I put another coat of AIO on??

My second question is, I worked the SSR into the paint pretty good, moving slowly and letting the product break down until it started to dust lightly. After I was finished, the swirls (which were very minor to begin with, were still in finish. Any recommendations??

If the vehicle only got rained on, you can just wipe down with something like S&W or rewash and then apply EX. Or, you could re-apply AIO to be sure to leave a clean surface and assure adequate coverage. In other words, the rain should not have removed or damaged the AIO.

For swirl removal with PC and SSR2.5, my experience is you need to bump up the speed to 5 or 6, apply some reasonable pressure, move relatively slowly, fully break down the SSR2.5 ... and still it may require multiple passes. Check your work in full sun, and don't move on to the SSR1/AIO steps until you are satisfied with the swirl removal.

Good luck .... there is a learning curve for this detailing stuff. I'm still learning ... that's part of the fun.

Also depends on the clear you have. Some cars have rock ahrd clear while others have soft and some have none. SSR2.5 wont work on all clearcoats. Corvette needs a bloody rotary :(.

maybe it is all GM clearcoats. Mine is a 2001 Sierra, and the Pewter color does not help matters-One moment the swirls are there, the next they are gone!?

I would recommend that you add a little more pressure to the machine as you polish. When i first started with the pc, i only used the weight of the machine. This led to very poor results. Once i started adding pressure, results immediately got better :D

as said above, quick detail and add ex/nb
