I recently purchased some used engine crashbars for my motorcycle.
They have some normal wear & tear on them, but im not too happy with an attempted re-paint to a scratch. Im trying to figure out what I can do to make it look a little better. Im not concerned about making it perfect, but I would like to smooth out the surface & spray something on to match. Im more concerned about the job lasting & not flaking off in 6 months.

any suggestions on sandpaper grits, spray paint (matte). They wont get too much heat from engine, so I dont think high temp paint is necessary.
