I was invited to run a vendor booth and do a car detailing clinic at an upcoming car show next month for a local VW club. This is my first time being on this side of the table at a car show so I'm just looking for suggestions or ideas.
Here's what I have so far:
-I will basically be doing a full exterior detail throughout the day for the clinic divided into three parts running about an hour or so each. (1) Wash and dry, (2) Scratch removal/paint leveling, (3) Polish/wax/dress.
-One of my co-workers will be running the booth selling detail supplies and answering questions. I'm thinking of selling some typical OTC Meguires and Eagle One products and maybe ordering some of my favorite yellow detail brushes.
-We will be giving away free pens with the company name and microfibers.
-I have a wonderful client that will let me borrow his 04 Audi S4 that I just detailed today as a display car (for a free detail on his Porsche BoxterS that he'll probably stop by the show with).
-I'm donating a free detail to the clubs raffle and I'm also offering a large discount to club members the week prior to the show (in exchange for displaying my business card on their cars).
I've put a lot of thought into this and hope I have most everything covered already.
Have any pros out there ever done this before? I've taught others to detail before but never in front of a small crowd (almost 200 cars entered last year with 4 times that as spectators). Any other suggestions?
