Success with water spots on black!

I recently bought a used 06 hyundai sonata. I noticed it had water spots all over but figured..hey..no bigee.

Anyway; after getting it home was I in deep. I did 3-4 separate heavy work overs with my pc ; 6" lc orange pad & megs uc. The water spots just kinda laughed at me.

I called my supplier & he suggested 4" lc yellow pads & optimum hyper compound.

Holy schnikee...after a speed 3 work in pass & 4-5 speed 6 passes & a ipa wipedown the water spots are history.

I thought ohc was less aggressive then UC?

Anyway i am gonna try the megs with the 4" pads to see if that was the key!!!!

Had a similar situation with a black Hyundai Tucson. I progressed to M105 and 4" PFW and ended up with a much better finish than yellow and a LOT less dust than the Power Gloss I was using. The CC on Hyundai's is pretty stout IME. Don't get that aggressive on the plastic painted parts though, they're a LOT softer.

He brings up a good point about the plastic painted parts. Most of the newer models are better, but the 06 back models have nearly unavoidable CC Failure on the painted plastics. The fuel door on my Tiburon is starting to go despite meticulous care.



And I'll keep this in mind, I had neglected to dry the windows on a PT Cruiser I did a couple weeks ago and it bit me in the butt as I had to bust out the PC and some ZPC on a white pad to get the glass water spot free *sigh*
