Hello all,

I recently had the opportunity to spend some time with this beautiful vehicle to prep it for a Porsche Club event. I spent a good bit of time with this one 4 months ago so she was not bad to start with.

Right after the customer dropped his car off I pulled it in out of the rain and went to work.

I got the car set up on the lift, removed the wheels and went to work cleaning the wheel wells and engine bay with a citrus degreaser. I then cleaned the wheels using P21s Wheel Cleaner and mild soap. Wheels were sealed with Jetseal.

I washed the vehicle a few times with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash to remove the old wax, dried everything off with microfibers and compressed air, examined the car and got a game plan together. First thing I to really catch my eye was the old protective film in front of the rear wheels.

I removed the old stuff...

I will fast forward here a bit to show you the finished product after I had polished, prepped and applied the new Venture Shield.

Much better.

I removed the rear wing to achieve 100% access to the areas I wanted to polish and taped off where I wanted to and got to work polishing.

Its hard to capture damage to white paint but you can see it here.

I love the accuracy and efficiency of the 4 in pad on a rotary.

After I was done polishing I prepped the car with Dodo Juice Lime Prime, applied the first coat of Supernatural, and took these.

She was looking pretty good. Time to move on to the interior. After good vacuuming I cleaned the dash, door panels, and consoles with Leatherique Pristine Clean of 1Z Cockpit Premium and protected with 303. I also cleaned the leather with Pristine Clean and protected with 303. The engine and front storage compartment were detailed and protected with 303.

Over the next few days I nit picked a bit everyday and added layers of wax. I think I had 5 coats on her when it was all said and done.

Here are the after shots.

Wow...very nice. I am not a huge Porsche fan, but that is one stunning car.

That is a seriously large fan you have in your shop. Is it just for airflow or is there a reason (detailing related) that you have it?

I have a very soft spot in my heart for everything Porsche. While I am not a fan of wheels that are the same color as the car (especially an all black or matte black wheel), that white on white really makes the car stand out.

That 997 looks absolutely amazing.:drool::drool:

Thanks guys!

JPostal, the fan is to help keep me cool as it was in the high 90's and humid whilst I was working on this car...

Guys I am really frustrated that whenever I do a write-up it cuts of a good portion of the picture on the right side. I feel as if it really takes away from a lot of these photos. Can anyone tell me how to get around this? I will put the link below to access the whole album on photobucket.

What a beauty!

Tim, the whole pictures are there, you just have to scroll sideways to see them.

Whoever made the vBulletin skin this site is using should be taken out back, shot, carried out front, shot again, and buried on the spot. It does make the site extremely frustrating to use.
