Stubborn (interior) Plastic Stains

I need to remove some stubborn stains on interior light grey plastic trim tommorow (looks like from grease/oil or rubber? stains)

I have tried both 1:8 Woolite and 100% simple green applied with a terry towel which helped a little, but not completely

I've used Megs # 39 with really good results on the plastic interior and exterior cladding on my ZJ. It has taken out the exact kind of stains you are talking about.

I'm still working on it now. The mr clean eraser wetted with warm woolite 1:8 is doing wonders. it is getting into all the textured plastic and removing the grime. There are still a few spots where it looks like the stains have soaked into the plastic.

the Mr Clean Eraser worked well

I could not get the carpet perfect, but it does look alot better

It looks great!! I have some stains on the plastic covering over my gauges from the previous owner. I think it was sunscreen. Anyway, it didn't bother me that much when the gauge faces were stock black, but when I changed them to white the stains really showed up. I tried everything to remove them (most recently Woolite 6:1). I will give the Mr. Clean Eraser a try. Did you say you wet the eraser with Woolite first?

yeah, you sort of wet the eraser till it is damp

I would not use it on clear plastic though, I think it would leave scratches, so do a test section first

I was thinking about that. I will still give it a shot. That Mr. Clean Eraser is awesome for around the house stuff. It's great on countertops.

I first used the Eraser on our Kohler Fiberglass tub and surround. It performed so quickly and easily my Wife and I just could not believe it. We had tried all types of chemical cleaners prior and the Eraser solved it perfectly.

I viewed a few threads here about wax removal from plastic trim and I tried it and I can only say WOW. Fast and easy to use. Removed the deep dirt embedded in the vinyl interior trim with ease as well.

Picked up the multi box from Sams Club, it is now a member of the cleaning collection.
