Stubborn Berry Stains...

GottaGTP

New member
Welp, I am "hired" every six months or so to detail my Mother's '12 Chevrolet Cruze.

The last detail went perfectly. Lucky for us the dealership hadn't been able to "Detail" it before purchase. Made my job easier.

This time, not so much. I don't have my good camera on me so no pictures today, the stains are not raised. Or at least not enough to feel the stain itself.

Clay bar doesn't touch it. Soaking in Goo-Gone doesn't touch it. I'm afraid the only thing I will be able to do is wetsand it...

Any suggestions, tips, tricks? I'm wiling to give something a shot in hopes of avoiding wet-sanding.

Tried Wolfgang's swirl remover without any luck... I can give it a swing with M105 and see if I have anymore luck. I've been using a 7424xp with an orange LC pad. I have a rotary, but don't use it frequently.

Is this berries that fell directly or bird droppings with berries?  I have seen the latter be very difficult to remove.  It sat on top of the paint but the bond was ridiculous.  IIRC I used Menzerna Power Finish on a 4" LC orange pad with a 7424.  The key was to use light pressure and let it spin.

They're berries that fell directly on the paint and got to "cook" on the days she left her car out. I believe they're Bradford Pear trees. They stain the deck and asphalt if it's any consolation :(

Will try light what you found successful this evening, though.

If all else fails try a  chemical paint cleaner, apply with a 'soft' foam pad a low speed (it's going to tough to remove as its had time / heat to 'set')
