Stronger Polish

I have been using Sonus SFX2 with the DAS orange pad. I am looking for another polish that is a bit stronger to remove stubborn swirlmarks, but that it won't be so strong that it will significantly thin out the clearcoat. Sonus SFX1 might be too strong. I will appreciate any suggestions you guys may have.

The stronger the compound the more clear coat will be removed.

If you have heavy swirls you have no choice but to remove a bit of clear coat.

If you like Sonus SFX2 then i'd definitely move up to SFX1. The clear coats are surprisingly thick on most cars. You can do a dozen average swirl removals and you most likely wont even be half way through the clear let alone the coloured paint underneith.

What pads are you using? Try Optimum Hyper Compound if it's that bad, otherwise, just the compound with a orange pad or a true cutting pad if using a PC.

You will get some haze, which can be removed through using a softer pad and polish.

If you're using a PC, then Menzerna may not be the best choice for novice users, or for PC use. It gets the results via rotary, but it CAN be done with a PC with the correct pads and usage as some have had great results with Menzerna and a PC. It's just best to match a polish, pad and tool with the finish and the users experience. I think you will get much better results from polishes that are more directed for a PC.

Hi Temp extreme cut works well by PC. I prefer it to OC. You can use it with a Yellow or Orange pad. I've even used it with a white pad to remove compounding haze from 3M RC.
