Stripping Zaino?

One of my cars is treated with 8 coats of Zaino Z-2.



I would like to try some Meguiar's #7 or #81 folowed by a pure carauba wax this weekend. What is the best proceedure to clean the surface?

According to Sal Zanio, wash it with Dawn.

Personally, I think you're nuts to want to mess with 7 or 81, it looks wet now, but IMO you don't need to strip anything if you want to do that.

I wouldn't strip it either- try some Mothers Sealer Glaze and a carnauba over the Z

Dawn doesn't remove Zaino. Sal recommends Dawn to remove everything else, particularly waxes and oils, prior to Zaino application. Unfortunately I don't know what to use to remove Zaino, as I've never wanted to. Any abrasive polish will do it, but if you want a wipe-on/buff-off solution I don't know.

To fairly analysis your new regimen, one should at least polish/cleanse the finish. This will remove the Zaino at the same time repair any blemishes and produce the "real" appearance and durability (just waxed look over time and washes) of your new regimen(glaze/wax).
