Storing Natty's

Is there a proper way to store Natty's. Sounds like a strange question, but when I opened my 3 month old Natty's yesterday, it looked like the wax shriveled and is now crumbly. On my next jar of Natty's, should I use some kind of plastic wrap to seal the top of the jar? BTW - love the stuff.

I've actually heard of someone keeping it in their refridgerator, but I doubt this actually had an impact on the product. I would treat it like all other waxes, out of sunlight and in normal temps. Keeping it in a ziploc might not be a bad idea, anyone ever done this?

I don't see how keeping it in a bag would do anything...the jar seals just fine. Or do you mean taking the block of wax out and keeping it stored bare in a bag?

For the most part, the other paste waxes I have do okay in the jars and cans they come in. For some reason, the Natty's seemed to dry up a bit. When I got it, there was some kind of liquid leaking from the jar.

Where I live the temps can get rather high in the garage, so I keep the Natty's indoors. Stuff that is liquid already I do not hold the same concern for.

It's clear that the jar was damaged in shipment and that you need to keep this one in a ziploc bag. I'd get another jar if it were me.

I store all my waxes in my basement that has a average temp of 70 degrees. Its keeping it in the garage with the different highs and lows that causes the wax to crack. One day its 100 in the garage and the next day its 50 degrees. A nice controlled climate is what its all about
