Stone chips and polishing help

Was polishing my car today with 105 and noticed that on the hood where there are stone chips that they all seem to be bright white and stand out much more, but was wondering, is there a way to dissolve or clean off that dried polish.



I have washed the area with optimum concentrate car wash soap, have not used alcohol yet but was curious if anyone has dealt with this, bc after the wash it is still there, but didn't use anything too strong yet to get all of the oils off yet
 
I've cleaned it out with APCs, solvents (ValuGard's New Car Prep is good to have around anyhow), and TOL's PrepWash (another good product to have around). I didn't do all that well with IPA for some reason.



But yeah, it can be a huge PIA no matter what you use.

Yeah. Whittle the toothpick down to a flat point and "flag" it with a razor blade...the idea is to turn it into something like a little paintbrush. Soak it in the APC to soften it up so it doesn't scratch the surrounding paint if you have an "oops!".
 
i tried most of the ideas, soaking it with apc did help but like has been stated no real way to deal with it but throw my hands up and say" screw it, it looks a millions times better then before!"



anyone ever use dr. paint chip? bc other then a repaint not much else can be done, correct?

I used it on my white Crown Vic, which was maybe an "easiest possible test case" other than the toughie of matching white. Easy to use, but I ended up doing it more like regular touchup paint and less like they say to use it. Decent results, but not the best I've ever achieved either. Eh...go ahead and try it since it's sooo easy. If you don't like it you can just wipe it off with their solvent and try again or do something else.

Pearls can be a real PIA to match under the best of conditions! So I bet the Dr Colorchip route will work about as well as anything else you're likely to try.
