Lol, im fighting another odor problem!! hopefully this will be a little easier...

So i just bought my R32, its in excellent condition for an 04, it has the regular very light scratches that will come out with a lil polish... the interior has one or two stains on the seats which are no biggy

one thing tho, when i turn the a/c on, for the first few minutes or so there is a damp smell and i need to get rid of it lol..i beleive that there is a product that you can put in your evaporator but i dont seem to have a link, anyone wanna help me out :rockon

you may also want to see if your car is equipped with a cabin filter ..if it is then it's probably due to be replaced ;)

I don't have a link, but most GM dealers carry a product for that use.
Chances are, most dealerships will have something similar.

It's probably all relabeled, but I have no idea who/what would be the best.
Febreze does a lot of advertising, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's good. It is available a lot of places, though.

yaa i gotta ask my dad, hes actually an auto a/c specialist lol... but i always like to figure out the answer to my problems before i tell him about them ;)

Change the filter to start and see if that helps, if not then you can run some Lysol spray threw the system to remove any mold buildup that is in the air vents...I do this by running the ac / heater on recirculate and spray the Lysol up by the heater vents by the windshield...I also remove the filter during this process.

There is also a AC spray available online for this reason as well

the detailing products will just be a quick fix ( most detailing problems can be solved with with something in a spray bottle, this isnt one of them :) ) , do a google search and see what you find.... i am sure someone has a good tutorial for cleaning out the ac / defrost system ...... you might even want to check a vw forum
chances are the car was kept in a wooded area, leaves and debris clogged / build up in major areas of the vehicle that intake air into the cabin, and you get mold or some sort of a stale odor
******please post when you fix problem****
:D good luck
