I have come to the conclusion that something in my detail process is imposing a static charge on my vehicles. No matter what I use as a topper I always have dust accumulating within a few short hours.



I have tried FK 425, 1000P, PW, AW and Megs new Ultimate Quik Detailer as my last step and still get dust quickly accumulating (parking inside or out). It is definately dust and not pollen as far as I can tell.



Is it my microfiber towels? I wash them with micro restore per directions and dry on low and take them out while slightly damp and air dry the rest. I don't really bear down on my paint with them either, especially with spray wax/detailers. AW just seems to fade into the paint after spreading.



Any suggestions? This happens to both my black jetta (really noticable) and my wife's saturn vue (which has plastic panels...easier to build a charge?)

It's probably the MF Towels. I also wash them with Micro Restore (by hand) but the rubbing and buffing with your hand and the car would still build the charge. I just touch my fingers on something metal.
