Been given so much advice on here over the last few days now im not sure what to! Need at some point to clay and paint clean the car. I know what to use now how to do it. The car has a few comtaminet spots on the roof and bonnet, but they really are tiny, the paint is glass smooth and free of swirls. It is polished and waxed up really well. Have just won a second place trophy in the show and shine comp, and the car is looking at its best. I have ny last show and another competition in the early part of september, before this show do i undo all the current work and start again, clay, paint clean, swirl remove? od do i stick with what i have an just clay individual bits, and leave the paint clean, swirl remove till mid september after the show?

Paint cleaning will improve my gloss, and sharpen reflections through the clear coat will it not?

Apart for the odd couple of tar spots. i am really happy with the paint, i know the tar spots will come off with some clay.

cheers

Congrats on 2nd place :xyxthumbs

Is the car a daily driver or garage queen?

I would start again, wash and clay the entire car including wheels, to ensure that the paint is clear and ready for your choice of polish and wax or sythentic if you prefer.

Going for 1st place means that extra effort. People like BradB are very serious about competitons do a search on concours, there is also a section in DavidB book on the 'perfect shine'
