ssr 2.5 dust?

I started polishing my truck tonight with PB's ssr 2.5 and I noticed I was creating alot of dust.I'm thinking that I'm using to much product.How much product should I put on my pad to do a 2x2 or 3x3 section?So far I've been getting great results with the 2.5 but the dust is reminding me of DACP.:nixweiss
 
I can't compare it to DACP, but I can say that is dusts significantly less that Menzerna IP. You have to consider that any polish that heavy is going to dust some.
 
You may be working it in too long. Polishes / Compounds dust up because they are drying up, you want to keep polishes wet.



Try

- Stopping before it dries and still slightly wet



if you find you need to buff more

- mist your pad with water

- or add a little more product to keep buffing



Meguiars recommend till "nearly" dry.

You really have to experiment pads/polish combo to find what works for you and your technique. I would start out with and 2" X in the middle of the pad if its a flat pad or 2 - 2" lines if a VC pad.
 
It maybe that I'm working it to long, I've been using DACP and it takes a long time to break down!Thanks I'll give it a try.
