Spring Cleaning for the STi

Today I decided to do my Spring detail on my STi. The car was in good shape since we had a mild winter so it wasn't ever driven in snow. No real paint correction needed, just a good cleanup. For this one I used several of the new Optimum products and I'm really impressed with them. They work great, are easy to use, and they even smell good. The process was:

Exterior:

-Wash w/ Megs Gold Class and foam gun

-Wheels w/ P21S Gel and EZ Detail brush

-Tires/wells w/ Simple Green 4:1

-Clay w/ Sonus Green and ONR QD strength as lube

-Optimum Poliseal on CCS White via PC (Speed 5)

-Optimum Car Wax (V2)

-Optimum Tire Shine

Interior:

-Vacuum

-Megs QID on dash, door panels, carbon fiber pieces

-Optimum Instant Detailer on jambs and seat backs

-Suede brush on steering wheel

-Lint roller on seats (some lint really sticks to them and won't come off with the vacuum)

-Stoner IG on all glass

No before pics since it was overcast and the car looked pretty good to begin with, but here are the afters:

Thanks everyone.

I've thought about trying Opti-Seal but the whole wipe it on and leave it thing weirds me out for some reason. I'm just so used to having to buff off my sealants/waxes. Maybe I'll order a bottle since I plan on ordering their new APC as well.

Yep, it used to be wingless but I need the additional downforce for the track. Especially since it will be used this year to compete in some time attack events. But here it is last year, tearing up the track in wingless mode ;)

Detail looks great and its' great to see a "sport" car actually being used for the track instead of for show. I hate when people *try* to look cool, but cant back it up. Your rotor glow alone backs yours up!

AWESOME pic

Thanks everyone. The car definitely gets a workout on the track but that doesn't mean I don't like to keep it clean and detailed in between :D

That pic was taken by a pro photographer at VIR, and it was when I still had the stock Brembo calipers. After killing the seals a couple times and having all sorts of other brake problems, I upgraded to the 6-piston 355mm Stoptech kit you see now. We'll see how that does at Summit Point later this month. Then I can look forward to cleaning all that rubber off the front end ;)
