Spraying a wax by mistake over SG -- input needed.

I accidently sprayed Meguiars quick wax instead of Final Inspection on the top of my 2nd layered Klasse SG on the bonnet. I sprayed a few pumps only and buffed just a little bit …only then I realised that I put wrong product cos it smelled different. I quickly sprayed some Final Inspection over the quick wax and buffed it clean.

I was thinking to do 3 SG layers then topped it with S100 or Souveran, now since I heard that SG will not bond to any wax, I screwed up the process. Now should I just forget layering the 3rd SG and just topped it with S100/Souveran or is there anyway that I can do so that I can layer the 3rd SG? … can you really see the difference after the 2nd and 3rd layer of SG?...how many SG layers you guys recommend?

Any input will be greatly appreciated. And oh….I didn’t use AIO before SG, I used SPEC instead…will that effect anything?.

Cheers :)

I would drive your car like normal, and continue on with SG after your next wash. You should be fine.....

At least you didn't use tire dressing instead of QD like I did once.....bottles look so damn much a like!

Detailking and Intel486: thanks a bunch for you input, much appreciated :up, I’ll wash just my bonnet tonite with dawn and continue with my SG layers

How many SG layers should I do?… I mean can you really tell the diff between 2 and 5 layers of SG?

Cheers, :)

There is a point of "diminishing returns" when adding more than 4-5 layers of SG. Most folks only use three and get a pretty nice gloss out of it by adding a carnuba topper such as S100 or Souveran.

When I used SG I hardly noticed a difference between 3 and 4 coats. When I added a coat of P21S though I could tell a big difference! YAY Carnauba!

Do I have to wait before I apply S100 on the top of SG?... cos I've waited at least 24 hours between coats of SG...

I would. You are waiting the 24 hours between SG coats based on the "curing" theory in the first place. So I'd wait at least that long before covering it up with a wax.

Call me non-anal, but I'd just Quik Wax the whole thing (for evenness sake) and drive it for a week or two, as an experiment. Then I'd do the S100.

I did the same thing... except it was when i was claying... that stuff really does some damage to a clay bar.

I agree with just leaving it on there. My guess is that since it's just a 'quick wax' it won't last very long, but the klasse will. give it a week or two and most of that wax will probably already be gone

That reminds me of one time in my pre-autopian days...

I grabbed for my Meguiars quick detailer to do my car, and accidentally picked up the Clean shine & protect rubber stuff and sprayed it all over the hood! :doh That was a nasty greasy mess! Blast them for making the bottle look identical! ;)
