Spray And Gloss

I ordered some SG today from Autogeek. I like PP,NB,EXC. I had to give this stuff a try. I think this is like their QD. Is that correct. Any comments or suggestions on it's use? Should I order some Spray and Wipe to wipe down a dusty car? If my truck gets wet I usually wash it and not use a QD. I take it that the SW is like a waterless wash product and might be better for wiping off dust without marring.

I went to PB sight wanting to order some of the coral colored DMT towels.I saw that the pay pal checkout did not have a way to insert the detailcity discount code. Do you order my PM'ing Steve or calling him?

Spray and Gloss is a QD, correct. Spray and Wipe is a qd with a little more kick that is used for more dusty cars, but it has its limit. If your mf towel gets really dirty when using S+W then you should probably just wash it.

I dont think steve has a detail city code for discounts, and I think the towels might have to be ordered through him. Shoot him a pm.

As for the DC code not sure about that but I would guess that's for Autogeek...again not sure...to answer the other questions....S&G is a QD type of spray...used it last night....however you need to use this on a CLEAN surface....if you have just washed and dried the car then you are good to go...however if the car is dusty to light dirt S&W is the product you spray on let set a minute to loosen up the dirt and wipe off...then your good to go for S&G....my cars look like they have just been waxed!:) :D :)

One more thing about S&G. I use it as I am drying. Gives a lttle lube for wiping up the water and adds to the shine. A quick once over with a WW drying towels then spray S&G on for the final wipe down. You will be surprised at the difference in the paint when completed.

I always call Steve for an order. Web site works and so do PM's but I like the personal interaction. He may hate it...LOL but I like it.

Ditto. cwcad. If you blow dry your car (i.e. most of the water is off the surface), mist on S&G and it renews the slickness on your finish, and adds a nice looking glow to the paint.

A few other uses:
-Glass.
-Interior trim pieces (wood, metal accents, plastic)
-I like to add 1-2 oz of it to QW+. It adds some additional 'pop' to the paint.
-Freshly cleaned wheels

I would stick with S&W for QD'ing a dusty car. Think of S&G as a QD to enhance slickness and shine, and S&W as a QD with cleaning properties.

I use S&G after I wash my car and I think it makes a big difference....I definitely adds shine and depth almost like you just waxed it...S&G has got to be one of my favorite products, it has many uses like mgm2003 mentioned (i.e. glass)

Not to stray from the subject but what about this QW+?? When is it good to use??

I guess you learn something new everyday. That sounds like a GREAT idea. I am going to give that a shot - thanks for sharing!

I really appreciate the input. Looks like I will be ordering the Spray and Wipe
too. If I like them both I will have to get them in gallons.

Ya, I started out purchasing the 16oz. spray bottle. It seemed to be alright. By the time that I was getting close to the end of that bottle I think the feeling started then. It is hard to explain. So I ordered a gallon of S&G. The feeling went away.

Kept using the S&G. Just a little at first. Usually after an S&W wipedown. Seemed to be effective. High gloss. I was happy. Pretty soon that shine started to get to me. I needed it more and more. The usuage went up. The gallon did not seem to last. When I neared the end of the first gallon that feeling started all over.

I ordered a five gallon jug. The feeling went away again. The shine keeps me going. Oh well. I guess that I mite as well admit it...I am a Poorboy's addict! I can change....but....I DO NOT WANT TO!!! :D

I used S&G for the first time today. Wow! It does give the finish some pop
and seems to keep the dust from sticking. Great Stuff! I just ordered some
Spray and Wipe. I can't wait to see how it works. I would say it would be
a better clay lubricant than the S&G. S&G seems to thin for clay lube.

I haven't had a chance to try my S&G but one time most of it looked pretty good but I had some splotches in a few places. Anybody know if this is because of user error or what it could be.

Can anyone compare S&G to Zaino Z-8? I have Z-6 and Z-8 and they need refilling. I may go the spray and gloss route. Any input?

If you're getting streaking or splotching, you're using too much. S&G is to be used very, very sparingly. Even more sparingly than S&W, which is to be used fairly sparingly as well. :)

I didn't really realize that I was using too much until I got my new black car, where everything is noticeable. Got lots of streaks the first time. Went back over the car using an amount that I thought couldn't possibly be enough, and it came out beautiful. :)

To describe the technique that I use, I pull the trigger slowly (just fast enough to get a nice mist) while moving the sprayer quickly. For smaller areas, I just give one quick little mist, maybe 1/8 of a trigger pull. I probably use around 3/4-1 trigger pull on the hood, around 1/2 or less trigger pull for most other panels. It will also vary depending on whether you're using it just for gloss on a clean car, or whether you're trying to do some light cleaning with it. If the car is a little dusty, you'll need a little more. Not much at all.

yes, you are exactly right..about half as much S&G is needed compared to S&W ...and we are just releasing our next generation of spayers to get a finer mist ...more info to come on these new sprayers. :)

QW+ is a spray wax with cleaners. You might use it to freshen up your wax job through the winter months (quick spray and wipe in the wash bays) or you can use it to quickly put another coat of wax on before going out. It can be used as a booster wax or a stand alone wax. Cleaners are supposed to be mild, but depending on the method of application, it can be used to address oxidation as well!

How about the S&G and S&W as a clay lube question? Would the S&W work
better as a clay lube?

Yes, S&W would work better and dilute it upto 50% to save money
