Spoiled lately...

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
Today I detailed a pristine 1994 Mercedes Benz E320 Cabrio. The car came out so nice, I wanted to buy it !!! I have had some really spectacular detailed in the past few weeks, and I haven't had one of these in a while...

These will help bring you back down to earth. A 1991 Hond Accord vs. tons of carpet fresh, sunflower seeds and just down right filth ...

Thanks GSRstilez

You seem to have real firsthand knowledge of taking on these badboys. I have seen some of your b&A's and I am always impressed by your attention to detail.

Procedure...

* Wet vac and blow out everything with compressed air.

* Clean trim, vents, and console area w/ Spray Nine a few unusual looking brushes and compressed air.

* Clean upholstery with Stoners Carpet and Upholstery cleaner (foam) and agitate.

* Treat carpet stains with Red Heat all purpose cleaner (agitate and let dwell)

* Spary Nine on Doorjams and dress trim and molding with Trim Shine.

* Complete carpet extraction with Detail King's carpet extraction solution. (Nice clean scent throughout the car).

* Extract upholstery only where needed. (Do not saturate the fabric)

* Dress all remaining trim with Trim Shine and buff out with a MF towel to lesson the shine and give a more clean and new "sheen".

*Final vac w/ wet vac to get out any remaining carpet fresh. (she most have put in 3 or 4 boxes).

* Spray down carpets and upholstery with Pro's Smoke and Odor eliminator.

*Place blower inside vehicle for about 15 minutes each side while I take on the trunk compartment.

The car had a funky odor and if it returns, I will be back with a ozone generator.

Dean, where did you get this chemical from?

Thanks.

:bow What a transformation! Good thing Accord have pretty decent carpeting...probably would have taken double the time with a Cavalier or a Neon.

The carpeting now looks brand new and I noticed you took care of the pedals as well! :up

Thats like the absolutely worst looking interior Ive ever seen...

Now this is the worst interior you've even seen....

Hey Dean-at least you didn't have to clean this one! :lol

Judging from most of the pics of cars you detail, you like myself get spoiled when you are detailing cars that you truly enjoy. I have a customer (dealer) who never has a problem with me taking a "spin" with some of the car I really like after they are detailed.

These "daily driver" cars help pay the bills, but it can be hard at times to get yourself motivated to detail a car that is not cared for. You have to love when a "soccer mom" calls you for a detail on her 1999 Chevy Suburban and you hear the 4 grammer school aged kids in the background.

They always describe the car as pretty clean, except for interior.

EMPTY OUT THE SHOPVAC !!!

Dean-when I finished that nasty Cavalier, I nearly got a hernia picking up my vacuum! I washed it this past Wednesday and while it wasn't stained again, it had just as much trash, old food and debris on the seats and carpets. It is really frustrating when you see that after working so hard a couple months before.

I guess I should look at is as job security. :nixweiss

This 98 Navigator I detailed for a dealership last year. Took 2 full days. The car died down the New Jersey shore and was left to sit for over a year.

The interior looked like a family of 10 lived in there for a year and had a food fight with Cola and ciggerette butts on the last day of their stay.:D

Seriously, I wish I had more pics to share. I have no idea where they are stored ???

These are from my website...

Dean-I believe I remember that thread! Just an incredible transformation! I can certainly understand it taking 2 full days. The interior on that Cavalier took over 3 hours and many of the stains would not come out. Looked much better but I still didn't feel particularly good when I finished even though the owner was thrilled and her fellow employees were impressed.

Dean,

Great work, but then again you are "Clean Dean" :)

I never do cars that dirty......why should I when my wifes car looks like that LOL!

Anthony

Amazing transformation. I'm amazed every time I look at your details. It shows how much care you put into your work.

I have had a few "soccer mom" calls on their caravans and windstars that made me question my sanity when I was finishing them up. Going back a few months later to get them prepped for winter and they looked almost as bad with french fries mashed into the carpet.

I think that is one of the most frustrating things about this job, seeing all your hard work ruined so quickly.
