mikey: this was definitely a hand polish



z400: it's really a relatively cheap light setup (Alien Bees strobes, under $1000 for my 2-light setup + modifiers and stands), but it works well for product photography:

Sweet deal! I was just thinking of this yesterday after I polished my shoes and wasn't stunned with the results. How exactly did you go about the process?

The gloss and wetness are impressive. the depth is fantastic.

You really should try some HGD on the instep and some RNV on the toe cap.

Set your KL on medium and attack the heel cup with two coats of MMC and top off with DS followed by GTL.

Process:

- Cleanup scrub with Sonus Leather Cleaner + SFX Pro applicator (yellow scrubby side)

- Lay down thick coat of polish over entire shoe - it sucks it right up - allow to haze slightly

- Buff w/horsehair brush

- Spritz lightly with fine mist of water, apply more polish, allow to haze

- Spritz lightly again, buff with horsehair brush

- Repeat until satisfied.

It's really quite amazing. Must be all the silicone and carnauba in the polish
