Hi, i cant find the #80 speed glaze but ive found 1qt of SPEED GLAZE , Im asuming this is the same product? Is the SPEED GLAZE just an older lable design?? Is there any difference in them? thx

thx..yea got it from Hannahs auto finishes. Is there any difference in them? If not why different labels? thx

are they both meguiars speed glaze? if they are, it could just be a change in the label design or something.

you mean #7 show car glaze? i've tried it on my single stage dark red mustang in the past and have had problems with it streaking. i've found VM to be an easier and nicer glaze to work with. i've also heard #81 Hand Polish is a good substitute for #7. some people have used #7 successfully but it's not something i care for anymore.

but if you want to know more about #7, check out meguiarsonline.com, i think there is an article there by mike philips on a good technique for using it.

My nearly new gallon of Speed Glaze says "Mirror Glaze 80" on the top line and "Speed Glaze" on the second line.

As long as it is in tan bottle that says Meguiars on it, same product.

Ok great, mine just says SPEED GLAZE , 2hotford from Megs said its 80 just new lable. Thx guys:xyxthumbs So you guys work 80 just like 83, till just a slight hazy film?

#80 breaks down faster than #83. Work it until it changes color to clear.

Yeah, work it until it's either clear or, sometimes, pink. Not sure why it sometimes turns pink, but it does and it always appears fully broken down at that point.

I think I read somewhere that Meg's might be getting away from the number system on their labels, bad move IMO if it's true.

Your previous response assumed you mean #7, so *I'll* assume you meant New Car Glaze :D

I really like New Car Glaze (it's Meg's #5). Works sorta like #7/#3/#81 but it dries more (it really *dries* as opposed to just "skinning", which can lead to a little dusting if you use too much). It is *very* easy to use and IMO works well. I used some on the repainted areas of the Volvo right before the new owner took it, looked great and went *very* fast- on with the Cyclo, off with a PC/MF bonnet. About as quickly and easily as I could move the machines over the car; it was done in no time. IMO #5 doesn't get the posititive attention it deserves. It's probably my fave for fresh paint.

Look at the bottom front of the label. It should read 8032 which is #80 (Speed Glaze) and amount in ounces 32 or 1 quart. That's how you can read Meguiars product labels. Reads the same in the Professional/Detialers catalog.

Deanski

FWIW, my newest 32 oz bottle of DACP does not have #83 on the label. In small print the"part number" is M-8332.

By "clear" do you mean when gets that slick oily look, which is clear but slighty wet ? thx

Yeah. Watch for when it changes from the sorta-gross original color. You don't work it until it's gone/powder/dry the way you do some other products.
