specks after PC

After using DACP on my buddy's explorer little specks appeared and would not go away. (sorry for no pics) the paint was smooth as glass. i tried the same on my nissan frontier and same thing so i know its something im doing. i used yellow pad on each. any suggestions?
 
What are the specs?

Did you look at them under a magnifying glass or loupe?

Did you try to remove them with another polish?

Some water?

Alcohol?

Mineral spirits?

Did you try to pick them off with your fingernail?



There's no way any of us can tell you what they are without pics and a detailed description. Even then it'll be tough as it's something we'd need to see in person.

You might be looking at normal stone chips, with a"little" product residue remaining.



Or, ...

Try something like AIO to *clean* the surface.

to the touch if you close your eyes and run your hand over the surface it is smooth as glass, nothing on it. but it looks like small specks can't be cleaned w/ alcohol or klasse as i have tried both.
 
Maybe your PC slung some of it...Mine did and I'm still trying to get them all off, although some of the specks had 24 hrs. to set up because it was getting dark & I didn't see them in time to remove while they were still wet.

If they do, it's just a paint defect that you didn't notice or see below the swirls and scratches. I see it on some of the cars I've detailed.
 
I'm not sure, but I think they might be product residue?...I have some small paint chip areas that have turned white after DACP dried in them...I think I will talk to Meguiars about this...Does anybody know how to remove these?
 
THe same thing happened to me on my own car. It is just dirty deposits that build up. It could be from not washing often enough or not polishing a couple times a year or just sap. In any case you are right that it is residue but, it can be removed. Try to clay. Then use a compound with a high speed and a foam pad. Just use anything that helps to prep the surface better.

I've had the same problems on my new Audi... brand new. I've determined that it is a paint defect that is barely noticeable... and only in direct sunlight.
 
No, I don't have any clay...I guess it would pay to buy some though...I have one of those magnifying glasses bretfraz was referring to...I'll examine these areas (Specks) with it, 1st chance I get...Wife was in the hospital recently so I've been burning the candle at both ends, so to speak.
