Speaking of FK1 2685 Pink Wax

The Whaler Loves Detail City
This wax is hardly mentioned in the "city". I would like to know how it compares to the waxes most talked about on here.

I love it! it Ranks with Nattys and Souveran. It lasts awhile and after 2 coats the depth and gloss is amazing. The only bad thing is the smell.

Ditto. Pink Wax has excellent durability too.

I have it! (Go figure... :rolleyes )
Pretty easy on, off. Needs to dry. Not a "wipe on/wipe off" wax. Comes off easier when fully dried than "almost there." Not a "use in the sun" kind of wax, though.
Reflective. Great durability. Smells VERY solventy. 1 can should last a person years and years.
I've heard people say their cans had turned "runny" but mine hasn't. :dunno
For looks, I'd say, better than #16, not quite as deep as Trade Secret. (1 coat on each)
Slickness isn't bad, but FK's 218 is slicker.

I concur.

It works well in most climates (sun is a bit tough, so work quick). Easy on, easy off though. The look has incredible depth and wetness. It lasts a pretty long time with LARGE beads.

Large even beads seems to be a characteristic of most FK1
sealant/ waxes.

Here is what a Finish Kare tech said about the smell when asked if a pleasant scent could be added.

"No. The scent is the scent. Without devulging propietary information the method needed to create pink wax and give it its unique characteristics requires excessively high temperatures which would evaporate any scent that was added to the wax.

That said the bennifits of not having a scent are by far outwayed by the increadible finish it leaves. Plus it has most likely the highest percentage of #1 Carnuba in the industry."

got mine yesterday. smells very vert strong for a wax. almost had a buzz going. nirvana while dtailing. :drool

First time I cracked open my can and took a whiff, I almost
threw up. Considering that I've almost lost my complete
sense of smell means this is serious stuff. Very nasty smelling
indeed. But the results more than make up for it.

Hey Rabbi, I just gave Pink Wax a try and I LOVE IT !

I received my order of Pink Wax on Friday and spent the Labor day weekend putting it on my new Red Honda S2000. I had some very minor fine line scratches that I first removed with Pinnacle Swirl Remover. (I was very pleased with the way PSR added depth to the paint!)

I then applied the PW with a yellow sponge applicator. I kept to approx 2 ft sq. area. (Yes, the smell is strong but my nose didn't mind it !)

I tried two methods of removal. First, I tried leaving it on a few minutes before removing. Then I did the W/O-W/O that I use with P21S.
For me the latter was the easiest. Both methods left the paint looking and feeling the same.

What I really noticed was the depth of shine after just one application. It's a bright shine similar to Megs 16 which I want. It seems from what I've read that a second app will really knock my socks off so I'll be adding another coat during the week.

So far I give it 3 thumbs up!

Dr. Groove: After applying Pink Wax next to #16 on red, I found a no contest ruling. PW blows #16 away in every aspect.

I might just have to pick some of this stuff up, I love #16 and am looking for a replacement.

You will not be disappointed with PW, that's for sure.

About the only thing that I don't like about it is the solvent smell.

After you apply a coat or two and look at your finish, you'll get over the foul smelling aspect of this product.
