Sparkling Blue Flake at it's best

Wow, what a long day. This 1500 Quadrasteer Silverado was prett dirty, and my new wheel well fetish was broken today. :LOLOL Ugh, I hate undercoated wheel wells. It soaked up a whole can of dressing before it started to look nice.

Anyways, paint had some swirling, and some eching, but was in otherwise great shape. Lack of depth was very evident. I polished it a couple of time in various areas, and then a final polish with SSR 2.

Processes:

Wash

Clay entire vehicle

Polish with SSR 2.5 in various areas to remove some junk.

SSR2 x2 on whole vehicle

Topped with NXT as it always looks good on blue IMO.

Interior:

Vacuumed

Scrubbed with Oxyclean

Extracted with a new shop vac I'm trying out.

Cleaned vinyl with Spot Remover

Topped with Poorboys Natural Shine with a great spray nossle (Thanks Chris!)

Blackend the pedals with Acetonie.

Glass was cleaned with Windex! Damn it worked great.

excellent work! wow! The only thing I do extra on pickups is clean and a tire gel the spare tire..

I would have if Trim Restorer were safe for treads, and I hadn't run out of tire dressing. :spit:

Thanks for the complements everyone. Its actually a VERY nice truck to drive.

Thats a great color, I did an avalance in the same color. I'm impressed by how good NXT looks on it, I used RMG/Souveran and it didn't look a whole ton better. All in the prep work, I guess.

Not a fan of your truck :p but definitely a fan of your detail :2thumbs:.

Another vote for NXT on blue from me. It doesn't highlight flakes as well as other sealants but the overall look is just right.

wow, great job! nice wheel wells. is that an aftermarket grill? i always like nxt on blue as well. it is just outstanding on blue.

You did not ask anyone if they liked your truck. What you ride is your owe business, unless you ask for an opinon. Great detailing job. You can do my ride anytime.

Its not my truck. ;) But thanks for the props man. :bigups

Always a pleasure to see your work Steve, the NXT looks amazing on the blue. You secretly switched trucks didn't you? :p Hard to believe it's the same vehicle. Oh you parked on the grass by the way! :bigups

Heh, Its so long, I couldn't get a decent angle, without blocking the whole road.

Autonova: Acetone is like a paint thinner, but I dilute it, so its not so harsh.

looks real nice man, i love that color. Im curious, just for comparison. How long did it take you to do that entire truck twice over with SSR2? The 2 times i have polished out my ext cab short bed it just seems to take forever and a day

The first round is usually the slow one. The second is just a quick pass, with a lighter pad, which seems to add some gloss back to the paint. :) :waxing:
