Souveran over P21s on Black

Here is a pic I took today of Souveran over P21S. The trees I was parked under proved to make a nice reflection.

I just love these waxes. :D

That looks great! I put S100 over Souveran over Klasse on my Regal, and it looked just about as good. I would think that either of those waxes, in any combination, look great on a black/dark car. :)

I drool every time you post those pictures! Your car looks so wet it's incredible! Your prep is perfect, and on black that's no small order.

I am confused on layering waxes though. I always thought the solvents in wax remove the prior wax, whereby nullifying the layering process?

Bruce,

I'm not sure exactly how it works. I know that Souveran has some polymers in it and maybe that has something to do with it.

Black is a hard color to keep looking great. My car is not perfect, but I have learned to enjoy the process of making the jet black paint on my 740iL look its best all the time.

Either wax on a polished first, dark colored car, will look good. At this point, Souveran has the edge on a dark colored car, in my point of view. I just love how wet the car appears with Souveran wax and Crystal Mist QD.

Some uncertain amount of oils from previous layers remains on the paint.Basicly you just layering oils sort of...

Amp99,

SergC,

Souveran and P21S are so easy to apply, sometimes I apply a coat of wax just for fun. Basically my car gets waxed every two weeks, usually with souveran.

I am also fortunate to have a pretty decent digital camera- a Canon G2. I would recommend the G2 or the new G3 to anyone who is thinking of getting a digital camera.

You can layer waxes over each other at pretty much any time. I would personally layer the S100/P21S over the Souveran instead of the other way around. Souveran doesn't handle the dust as well when it rains and will attract more dust than the P21S/S100.

I'd give the first coat 30 minutes or so to sit there and just be. I doubt that it makes any difference if you go right for another coat or if you wait. Waxes don't require the cure time like a sealant does.

AMP99,

That is a nice bimmer! I'll have to show this to my brother. Sadly, he neglects his. :( Maybe this will prove inspiring for him. Great job!:xyxthumbs
