I'm looking for more aggressive pads for my PC. I have the Sonus DAS line-up of pads. Anybody know where the Sonus DAS Orange, Green, and Blue match-up to the Edge 2000 line of pads? The Edge 2000 system seems attractive to me because the PC vibrates too much for me and it is becoming a burden to use the PC for 8-15 hours straight! Also, has anyone tried wool pads on the PC? Lastly, how can you tell if your pads are not usable anymore? My Sonus DAS pads don't have tears or anything else like that, I've been using them for over a year now, cleaning them every time I use them, but reading around made me realize that pads have a "lifespan." I would like the focus of this thread to be about more aggressive pads for the PC, especially within the Edge 2000 line-up, but answering any or even all of the above will be a welcomed relief. Thanks :2thumbs:

Can't answer many of your Q's but maybe I can help with a few of them.

Wear is only an issue for me on *cutting* pads, they get milder as they wear. I use the same polishing pads for ages and I have some finishing pads (LSPs only) that are many years old. I've never noticed any inherent "lifespan" issues with pads that don't contribute any "cut" to the process (e.g., light polishing pads and finishing pads), but rather it's stuff like tears or velcro issues that force their retirement.

I've used 5" and 6" wool pads with the PC with no real benefit, just a little more aggressive than foam cutting pads but the cause a *lot* more micromarring. I'd skip them. Far better to use 4" pads, you can do some real correction with those, and they're the only way I'd try to do *any* significant correction with a PC.

Ahh, well, what about 4 inch wool pads, like the ones sold at I believe properautocare? I have the 4" yellow and white Sonus pads that make the PC work alot smoother and more comfortable, but maybe there's something more aggressive that those? Suggestions would be great (from anyone of course). Thanks

If the 4" cutting pads won't do it, don't go to the wool ones. The 4" cutting pads are aggressive enough to do damage (gee, guess how I know :o ) and anything beyond their capabilities calls for a rotary.

Thanks Accumulator...it seems that for every new detail, a rotary would of been a better choice than the PC for aggressive needs...it's become harder and harder to resist buying one! :chuckle:
