Some more fun than others?

There is something that I have wanted to ask a professional detailer for a while. Do you pros ever think, "Man, I have to do Grand Caravan, that is just boring."? I mean, obviously, most people with Grand Caravans aren't going to spend the $$$ that it costs to get a pro detail. But, are some cars more fun to do than others? I mean, I looked recently at some before and afters of a pro Lamborghini detail. The end product was nothing short of soul stirring.:drool: A minivan could just never be anywhere close to soul stirring for me. It seems like it would be easier to spend 50 hrs on a Lambo than many other cars, even for pay. Am I right?

It depends what the client is having done. Obviously the Lambo would be a complete, full detail, cost probably isn't a huge factor (if you have half a million dollars to blow on a car, then an $800+ detail probably isn't a big deal). A Grand Caravan is probably a family car, with kids being transported in it all the time. Most likely, the exterior is not of huge concern, but the interior needs some TLC.

Are some cars more fun to detail than others ? Sure, depends on the detailer and what they like to do. Professionally, do I treat certain makes and models differently because of my personal opinions ? Absolutely not.

WAS hit it on the head... especially with the last part.

My biggest enjoyment from a detail his honestly the customer's reaction with the end result. I would much rather spend 6 hours on a Grand Caravan cleaning parts of the van the mother didn't even know were dirty and seeing the look of shock and appreciation at the difference than spending 6 hours nitpicking an M5 that was pretty clean to begin with only to have the owner shrug and tell me it looks "good" while he signs over the check.
