i'm a novice detailer that has a daily driver-03 dodge ram black, just curious what would be the best way to remove light scratches and swirl marks/cowwebs from my paint. please keep in mind that dodge/diamler chrysler r famous for soft paint. thanks..

I too have a black 2003 Dodge Ram -- a Hemi. :D These trucks have a LOT of surface to polish. Forget the hand stuff. Buy a Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher.

A procedure that gives great results is as easy as 1, 2, 3 with a pc.

1. Meguiar's #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish.

2. Mequiar's #82 Swirl Free Polish.

3. Meguiar's NXT High Tech Wax.

Apply all with a pc and remove with a microfiber polishing cloth.

yah- i would love scottwax to do it, but something tells me he doesn't quite get up to iowa from texas that often..

Dependent upon how light the scratches are Megs. ColorX should work, as you need something hand applied

~Hope this helps~

I would have some DACP handy too. It also works by hand, and it might be necessary because it is stronger, which compensates (partially) for the fact that you don't have the mechanical advantage of a PC. Try the gentler method on a section first though.
