So what do you guys think about advertising with google?

Agreed, and in addition........How? Fliers on cars (useless), e-mail, mailers, newspaper, coupons, yellow pages? Seems that you need to ask yourself a great deal more questions on how to advertise after much research and fact finding. What works? What doesn't? Your two word question lacks thought, no offense intended.

That depends, what areas are you marketing? mobile or shop, And what's the price to do an add words campaign and whats your competition doing. It's not a simple answer I wish it was but it has many factors to get you to the end result.

The web IMHO will not be the best bang for your buck starting out. It might be a useful tool down the road, after you have a good customer following established.

I'll be marketing a mobile. I've had ads in the phonebook before, and they were completly useless. Or maybe my ad wasn't big enough. But I figure since many people now have internet on their phones, why waste my time putting an ad in the book? So far I found a few companies that charge about 150 dollars, and say I will get 90 clicks or something. I just want to know if this has worked well for anyone else? People telling me to do a search, I have not found 1 topic based on what I have been asking...

With you being in Florida you should be able to work almost all year round.
I would suggest going out and doing some cold calling on offices of doctors, business, buildings and other establishments that will have the facilities where you would be able to set up. Cost is gas and time. Have a flyer with a discount coupon for first timers and for a maintenance program.
Make sure you have insurance or don't even consider walking on some one else's property. Make sure you are prepared to tackle any problem you may encounter. Good Luck

I ran a adwords campaign and have some success with it. In my experience it will pay for its self in at least the first week. I set my budget to 2.50 per day other wise you will run through 50 dollars in a week. Make sure to put your number in the ad. Hope this helps .

In google you can go for Local business listing or you can add your products in Google Shopping. Nobody in this world helps to get more traffic rather then google.

I have found that "word of mouth" has always worked the best for me although it can take nearly a year before the work flow becomes a steady pace.

In the past I have tried post cards (ABSOLUTE waste of money).

I have been using the Google Adwords campaign annd have actually had a really good flow of traffic not only to my website, but also to my phones. You choose the advertising limits, demographics and even the time of day for the ads to run.

I also have found that since I do virtually no advertising and have very subtle signage on my vehicle; the advertising becomes the "where" I'm performing the work and the flow of traffic that I come in contact with during each job. Parking garages are awesome for curiosity causing customers to ask questions as they're going to and fro.

Yesterday I received a contract with 2 large corporate office buildings to provide services on site each Friday. Easily $600 + per day in sales. I was told that I had been referred to them as an employee remembered seeing us at another location.

It's either internet advertising or the 'be seen" advertising that is going to benefit you the most when looking for marketing techniques. ;)

UPDATE : So does anyone on here pay to have their name on google? Or is this a complete waste of money? I'm thinking about trying a month just to see what the hype is about...
